In response to my question about vaccine availability for Kiwis, NZ Ministry of Health publicly stated that Pfizer hadn't applied to Medsafe for updated booster approval, but this was not true. Records show Pfizer applied in June.

FWIW I strongly recommend getting the mpox vaccine if you can (it's at some CVS in the US). The mpox vaccine also helps prevent smallpox. It's two shots 28 days apart and for me the side effects were minimal. I got a shot in afternoon, felt out of sorts in evening, then fine next day. The second shot was even less noticeable. My doc in SF had seen a few cases and was like GET IT even if you're not the target group for mpox. He described it as *extremely* painful and disfiguring.
