On the topic of Linux, so far Fedora 43 + KDE is my jam, just works so wonderfully :)
Though, I'm still undecided between Ubutu and Debian for the servers..

@kariboka it is awesome, not going to deny, tested ejabberd for the server, but onboarding people who are not tech savvy and getting them to enable e2ee was a bit tricky unfortunately :/

Really really happy with Proxmox! Just setting and migrating all of my services atm, report coming as soon as I'm done 😊 But yeah, seems like the most difficult choice right now is which messenger server to self host 😅

Lemmy question: Is it actually good or just "not Reddit"?
I love the federated approach and the self-hosting potential is exciting, but only if people are actually there.
Slowly switching there as well atm.
What's the story from folks who've made the jump? Lemmy know :D
