Because that's what it is anyways

@fury999io get out of here bigot! (Your profile picture exposes you)
@fdroidorg @organicmaps I'm not seeing tethered net as a separate option in the anti features setting, and organic maps only shows up when I allow "others", which is slightly concerning. I'm using fdroid basic 1.20.
#Linux is magic. Here are some tools I recently encountered that work only on Linux due to the aforementioned magic -
Inspect a command's effect before committing it to the filesystem - https://github.com/binpash/try
Box up misbehaving applications, forcing them to put files into the right place - https://github.com/queer/boxxy
Every year #Kanwariyas destroy what little peace and quiet we can get in #India. They make our traffic even worse, indulge in hooliganism, beat up people, destroy public property, play music on loudspeakers at crazy volumes, and there is nothing anyone can do about it.
#Religion is a plague on mankind
Rains in #India are magnificent - truly something else. This year I feel like a character from #Lagaan, waiting for the monsoon to hit North India and bring us relief from this dreadful summer
@tokyo_0 That's exactly what I mean. You dismiss their narrative as "self interest" and "privilege", and I can assure you that it affects real people in a very real way and I personally would never dismiss their concerns. In any case we agree on the need for reservations so there's no point in continuing this discussion any further
@tokyo_0 Your statement makes it sound like some middle class people are well-educated (and hence should know better) and well-resourced (and hence are not impacted by reservations), and still want reservations to go away (to hurt minorities perhaps?). That comes across as dismissing their concerns
@tokyo_0 I mean *students* were setting themselves on *fire* to protest against reservations, it impacted them that much
@tokyo_0 It's easy to be dismissive when you are not the one being impacted. And I mean that statement to cut both ways. We need reservations, but I I totally understand the pain of a general category student not being able to get into a college and not being able to get a job and not having social mobility. It is a big *sacrifice* the person has made and I really wouldn't be condescending
Did you know that #India has one of the strongest #AffirmativeAction programs in the world? Disadvantaged groups (scheduled castes and tribes and economically weaker sections) have as much as 60% of all government jobs and seats in state run educational institutes completely reserved for them? Yes we have a lot of poor people and we have had and continue to have caste based discrimination, but the amount of efforts put into solving the problem are proportional to the size of the problem

@tokyo_0 A manufactured complete non-reason
I'd also like to remind people that BJP has already won a seat in #Surat because their candidate was unopposed. Why unopposed? Because the nomination papers of the Congress candidate were rejected by the election commission, and all the other candidates withdrew "voluntarily". This is the kind of stuff that still happens in this country in this day and age 🤬 The people of Surat have only themselves to blame

I thought about why #AI generated pictures in blog posts and news articles bother me so much.
The pictures are high quality and give the impression that someone has taken the time and effort to create them. That everything in that picture has been put there thoughtfully, with agency. This includes things like the placements of objects, appearances of people - they all contribute to the meaning of the image that the mind subconsciously searches for.
Then when you realise that the picture was created by someone prompting an AI generator with "photorealistic, ultra highly detailed, portrait lighting, subpixel rendering, smooth vertex shading, (best quality, sharp focus, masterpiece, 4k, ultra detailed, sharp focus, 8k, high definition, insanely detailed" 🤬, and that almost none of the fine details you notice have anything to do with the subject at hand - you are obviously going to feel #swindled.
Treat your readers with respect. Don't do it.
@tokyo_0 with great restraint 😀 I just had a forkful (I estimated 20 grams for the tracker)
A map that shows all the parks in #Delhi. Go visit! (via reddit)
Might have overdone #lunch
Ah yes totally normal #Stackoverflow
