@apps Oh yeah, the quote is loading now. On this subject, is it possible to hide the RE: <Link to Post> at the top of quote posts? Feels redundant to me and not in line with how it's shown on the Mastodon web client.
Okay, didn't realise there was an issue with PeerTube links as well as Pixelfed. Thanks for looking into it!
@apps Hey, I've just started using Fedilab and I'm wondering if feature requests are something you are open to? If so, where's the best place for you to receive them?
Well late into this evening was terrifying. My wife and I genuinely thought our dog was dying as he collapsed and yelped/whined just as we were coming up to bed. He's getting old and we know this was a realistic possibility in the near future. Just never ready for it. 😖
We took him to the Out-of-Hours vets (yay extra stress on him) but he's okay at the moment. Potentially just bad arthritis (feels like there is more to this though) which he's had for some time now. We will be back to the ordinary vets in the week to do a full blood test as the OOH vets only do a basic one. Got some painkillers for him for now.
We woke up to Rascal having another episode. This time it was worse. My wife has taken him to the vets again and I've had to stay behind for my son. Last night we were able to get his grandparents over before we took Rascal but, no such option this morning as everyone is asleep.
I fear I may have seen my friend for the last time. And I'm sat here writing this waiting for my son to wake up. When he does, I'll need to explain what might happen. I feel sick.
I've been able to sort through most of Rascal's stuff today. Thrown away some things that aren't worth saving. Packing away others as keepsakes and memories. Toys, treat bag, lead, etc.
But this, I haven't been to deal with. I can't. This is where he last slept. Completely unchanged from the moment he got down at 5am and collapsed for the second time.
For the last few weeks he hasn't been able to jump up on our bed (he'd normally sneak on once we'd got to sleep) so he found his way onto some washing we hadn't put away and had left on this chair. We put this down to the arthritis in his old knees (maybe it wasn't this now, can't know for sure). We decided to put this blanket on the chair and he's slept here overnight ever since.
It smells like him, it's covered in his hairs, and it was his last interaction with anything in our house. I'm sat on the floor in front of it, having just cried again for the hundredth time this weekend, and just wishing I could stroke him and give him a cuddle again whilst he grumbles about wanting to sleep.
My wife and I went to the garden centre this morning to get a plant to put in the garden where Rascal used to always go for a wee. We said what we wanted and they said that roses may be a good match.
They then asked what his name was. This is what we brought home and potted.
My wife and I managed to watch some old videos of Rascal this evening and we had a little laugh at some of them. We still felt sad after watching them, but it was nice though. 🙂
@operationpuppet Assuming it's the Star Trek quote, I believe it's "to boldly go where no man has gone before" which suggests to me he's talking about the Human race having not been to these new worlds and civilisations.
