Of course, the downside with wanting to run #ArM is the rules issues. AKA I hack every game.

The one that jumps out is that ambition, paranoia and suspicion is supposed to be the enemy of every Covenant, but there is zero mechanism to make PCs act that way.

@silverwizard more and more I think this is the right way forward for most genre-based RPGs. E.g. D&D should have Fighter, Rogue, Wizard etc. as its stats

@harrythegm I generally prefer games that don't have them these days

@harrythegm I tend to prefer games that are driven by skills or something akin to that. E.g. Blades in the Dark, Spectaculars, A Song of Ice & Fire.

To me, the idea of attributes describing your core aptitudes which are then used to derive other abilities is legacy 1980s/90s RPG technology, dating back to the age of simulation. I don't feel they have a real place in most of the more focused, emulationist games around today.

Having enjoyed BitD, began wondering if you could make a more "heroic" Forged in the Dark game where success is on 5/6.

But perhaps a better way of modelling heroism may just be to increase Stress capacity and allow characters to give 2 Aid dice under circumstances that fit a PC's specific heroism

@silverwizard @Rolistespod I have to say, I find WotC pretty quite on social media. It's definitely a fan-led movement of people trying to position themselves in a community

I really like #DnD and what it brings to the #TTRPG ecosystem. But I find myself getting annoyed by toots about #DnD that could be about any #TTRPG, but aren't because that's not how some people see the game or because they're trying to harvest interaction from on one specific vocal community.

And if something annoys you, you should mute it, right? But wouldn't I miss it?

Need to mull on this some more...

@Rolistespod yeah, exactly. And not even the fans so much as the people trying to be influencers in that community, who create exclusion to promote their own brands. Or sometimes feels that way.
