@lucy this sounds suspiciously like moisture problems...
Moondrop Arias were really infamous for this and my Starfields show the same issues. what's the earbuds model, if you don't mind my asking?
and if it's one of those two, might try replacing the filter, i think starfields came with new ones ootb.

@lucy yeah, it's unfortunately common with that uhh... generation(?) of moondrop earbuds. or at least folks are saying it happens on forums and such.
Can't say I've experienced it on my set.... lemmie find them real quick and see if I can't figure out a fix. I think the nozzles come apart...

@lucy yep! they come apart. The front just unscrews and the filter is just on that part that came off.
As for maintaining/cleaning, maybe dunking the filter in isopropyl alcohol and swirling it around a bit, then letting dry and replace could fix it, but risky.
I think you can find replacements for the filters on one of the various e-commerce sites...

@lucy Ah, kind of the opposite, or at least I think. Moisture gets stuck in the layers of the filter and makes the layers not resonate like they should.
Moondrop did some weird stuff putting acoustic damping into the the filter mesh. it's all kinda above my head tbh.
