Good piece here about the NaNoWriMo/AI débacle. If nothing else, it’s served to show just how deeply concerned many writers (including the disadvantaged groups #NaNoWriMo claimed to be supporting) are about generative AI.

@HauntedOwlbear I had thirty years of that, writing non-fiction. Most of it was fun (outdoor guidebooks and photography books) but it did stop me properly scratching the fiction itch.
I'm over it now.
