    #LibreWolf v148.0.2-2 is now available!

    https://codeberg.org/librewolf/bsys6/releases/tag/148.0.2-2

    https://librewolf.net/installation/

    Notable changes:
    - WebGL per-site permission prompts
    - STL Hardening now enabled on all platforms
    - The releases are now hosted outside of Codeberg (dl.librewolf.net) for reliability (and to put less strain on Codeberg's infrastructure ^^)

Unfortunately, the AppImage release will be delayed – but we are working on it!

    See https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/148.0.2/releasenotes/ for upstream changes.

To support Firefox' changes to (finally! ;) respect XDG directories, LibreWolf sticks to `~/.librewolf` if it already exists, for backward compatibility; but will use `$XDG_CONFIG_HOME/librewolf` otherwise.

Unfortunately, we've also had to drop 32bit builds for Windows starting with this release.

    See https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/147.0/releasenotes/ for upstream changes.

    Notable Changes:

Thanks to our two new core contributors (<3) we've now fully moved our CI and main release artifacts to @Codeberg! (this might be relevant to check for any downstream packagers) and managed to tackle a whole bunch of other long-open issues!

As there seems to have been recent confusion about this, just a quick "official" toot to then pin: we haven't and won't support "generative AI" related stuff in LibreWolf. If you see some features like that (like Perplexity search recently, or the link preview feature now) it is solely because it "slipped through". As soon as we become aware of something like this / it gets reported to us, we will remove it ASAP.

@sylvie we are aware of this and this will, of course, be removed/disabled. The sole reason it is till in there is because it slipped through, so to speak. It says "LibreWolf" in the message because, indeed, Firefox' name gets automatically replaced with "LibreWolf" as part of the build process, so that happened there, too.

Sorry for the confusion to y'all. But rest assured: we definitely haven't suddenly "switched sides" - we still absolutely don't want "generative AI" related stuff in LW.

@CIMB4 @ploum this has been changed quite some time ago, after safer handling of WebRTC ICE candidate gathering had been implemented upstream a while back.
Some websites require WebGL/Canvas access as part of their (voice/video) call applications, which might then need manual intervention, but regular WebRTC based calling should not be restricted like you described anymore.
