@lain Airline unions are the only thing keeping the evil vampires called airline companies in check for us employees. If you think it's bad as a passenger it's worse working for them. Deal with the devil. At least the unions provide shielding and protection. @thendrix
@mischievoustomato I run Debian on my Linux machines. But if I was going to recommend a first distribution for someone I would probably recommend Fedora or openSUSE Tumbleweed since both are quite stable, professionally maintained, have lots of sane defaults and don't really require much of the user to install or run. openSUSE comes with BTRFS snapshots and rollbacks working and automatic out of the box + GUI tools for a lot of things. @lichelordgodfrey
@lichelordgodfrey I always recommend stock Debian since so many distributions are essentially just Debian under the hood. And it's stable and reliable. And there are tons of packages for it. There is, ofc, a Linux Mint Debian Edition which is just modified Debian by the Linux Mint team (I think the default is based on Ubuntu and Ubuntu is based off Debian). I personally wouldn't recommend Ubuntu. Otherwise, Fedora is a solid choice for a basic Linux experience and might have better OotB support for gaming. I always see people pushing Linux Mint for "newbies" and I really don't understand why.
@lichelordgodfrey I don't really know how much it's changed since then. I just know I've tried it in the last few years and it was fine. And it's generally well-regarded.
@p Trump admin has a $50 mil bounty on Maduro and $10–$25 mil bounties on some other Venezuelan heads of state. All while parking naval vessels and a Marine Expeditionary Unit right off the Venezuelan coast.
@p This is moreso a take in response to the US government putting bounties on the President and top political figures of Venezuela. I'd just love to see the crocodile hysterics of Yankees if there was some tit-for-tat performative bounty put on POTUS et al. by a notable foreign state.
>Michigan’s bill would force internet service providers to detect and block VPNs and ban the sale of VPNs in the state. Fines for breaking the law could reach $500,000, as stated by CNET report.
I am almost convinced that Christianity was created as a "4d chess" maneuver by Jews (they were all Jewish; Jesus was Jewish) to be a tranquilizing slave religion for Gentiles so that Gentiles could be more easily domesticated.
When I get back to Shanghai I need to update this VM from Debian 12 > Debian 13. I'll have up update my laptop first to trial the process out first before fucking with the VM.
We need to purge the H1b visa system in its entirety. Just gut it completely and start over. Foreign work visa'd employees should be the absolute last resort and the last available option for employers. It should neither be easy, accessible, nor affordable.
