Follow up. So with Flickr, would that mean I could post photos from my Flickr account to here (or other #ActivityPub enabled site) without downloading/copying, etc.? Sort of like an API?

Can someone who recognizes that most users don’t care how the sausage is made explain in 500 characters or fewer what benefit would inure to users should Flickr do this? I keep seeing mention of #ActivityPub and I have to admit I have no idea what it is or why I care.

I’m sure it’s a fairly simple explanation (the use, not the tech) but not anything I’ve paid even a smidgeon of attention to yet.
