I had a thought of a silly parody/joke website.

It'd be a site set up like a supplement store, it wouldn't actually sell anything. It'd just have various fake products with packaging of the fake brand on them, done up real nice to look legit. But all the "supplements" would just be various hard drugs, but the description would be worded like a supplement.

"Want to kick that nasty coffee habit, but still want to wake up bright eyed and bushy tailed? Our new amphetamine supplement might be just what you're looking for! Reports say amphetamines are well over 100x more potent than an average cup of coffee, and all without having any caffeine! Perfect for those wanting to kick their nasty caffeine habit, though might not be great for those wanting to ditch a habit all together. You know what they say, with amphetamines, you can never have just one! 😋"

Recently sent out a package, and I was worried I accidentally printed out the wrong shipping label. And there was no way for me to physically verify, cause it's already been sent out.

So, I went to the print jobs for my printer, and it didn't show me the images I printed, but It did show me the size of the images. And the image I printed recently was 1kb larger than the one I had printed last time, so I can confirm based on literally 1kb difference that I did infact print the correct label.

Funny how things like that work out.

@jtturtle Yep, there seem to be a lot of settings like that. The primary developer of Cherrypick is Japanese, and Misskey (the software it's based on) is also a Japanese software. So I imagine some of these settings names/locations have to do with difficulties in translation.

Unlike on other platforms, on fedi hashtags actually do something. They are sorta like groups that allow for extra visibility and will allow for people looking for the content to find your post easier.

Anyway, happy it didn't actually come off that way!

I have my classic UI setup with some side widgets, so I have my post widget and notifications right there (I find it easier than popping into separate tabs for everything) The screenshot is old as I've demonstrated this before, so the image was already in my drive.

I also have dark-theme enabled all the time, (which I think is also how we have it set by default) because my eyes are exceptionally sensitive to bright light colors. So, that's to help people like me, so they don't have to fumble around the settings with their eyes closed trying to find out how to turn dark-mode on, if they can at all.

There are multiple timelines here, Home, Social, Local, Global and Bubble.

Home is a custom timeline for you, basically a feed of all your follows put into one place.

Social is a combination of Home and Local from my remembering.

Local is Shota House users specifically.

Global is basically the wild west, you'll find things from basically all instances that federate with us here. Very hectic there.

And Bubble is a timeline consisting of the instances we at The Shota House have decided to associate ourselves a little more closely with. The list of instances here changes as we find new instances or change our mind about other instances, as we generally like to keep a certain vibe going on.

There's a ton of customizations worth looking at in the settings, you can also change to different UI styles.

It can be a little overwhelming at first so take it slow, if there's any specific setting you're looking for/wanting let me know and I'll help you find it! (Keep in mind I'm legally blind, so be patient with me. lol)

I, personally like the classic UI best (More -> Switch UI -> Classic) and I also tend to stick to the Local and Bubble timelines as that's just what I prefer. Obviously you are free to explore to your hearts content, but those timelines might be a little easier to digest when first starting out.

So, yeah sorry about that long little rant here, but hope you enjoy your stay and hope that helps you get a little kick-start, since I know everything can be a bit much when first joining!
