On 23 October 1943, she was murdered in a gas chamber at Auschwitz II-Birkenau. She was killed together with her brothers: Mario (left) and Sandro (right).

12 December 1934 | A Norwegian Jewish girl, Fanny Synnøve Ganz, was born in Oslo.

In November 1942 she was deported to Auschwitz with her mother Lea and her brother Charles. They were all murdered in a gas chamber after the selection.

4 December 1939 | A Jewish girl Magdalena Dora Blau was born in Rotterdam in the Netherlands to Fritz and Mina.

On 11 August 1942 she was murdered in a gas chamber at the #Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp.

The SS developed a system of murder at Auschwitz in which hope was employed as a crucial weapon. Jews deported to the camp were given false hope and promised new lives.

One of the most significant remnants of this are thousands of kitchenware items that were found at the site of the liberated camp. Today many of them are presented in our main exhibition.

He was deported to Auschwitz from Westerbork with his wife Marika in August 1942. Marika was murdered in a gas chamber after arrival selection. Louis perished in the camp on 30 September 1942.
