Congratulations to my second cousin once removed, who got some exciting career news this morning!
Cousin Tim, when you have a moment, I’ve got some ideas I’d love to discuss with you

So we are at a wedding and the flower girl is TEARING UP the dance floor and there’s a circle around her and everyone is going “El-ou-ise! El-ou-ise!” And she is just rocking out and I hope she never looses that spark 💜
"She has never given birth" ok me either, so what
"She has a weird laugh" yeah so do I, who cares
"She's too attractive" hey TWINS
You're just making her seem more relatable
All I want is sweeping systemic changes, is that too much to ask??
@kkarhan I mean in the 30s the nazi party used the American eugenics society as a starting point for their own policies, we just like to pretend that never happened!
State Autism Databases
I have written before about my decision not to offer autism evaluations in North Dakota because of a state law that requires me to put my clients on a government list, which is unethical. In my research of North Dakota's database, I learned that other states have similar registries with varying levels of ethical concern. My work has primarily focused on North Dakota because I am licensed to practice there, but now that I am working on registering…

Got to witness a dude lose his MIND about pre boarding because they wouldn’t let him cut in front of disabled passengers. “But I PAID to board FIRST” ok calm yourself, god forbid you have to spend two seconds remembering that other humans exist and have needs 🙄
My friends’ kids were boogie boarding and got caught in a riptide, so Husband had to help pull them back to shore. Everyone is safe. I can already tell this story is going to get more badass and epic every time I tell it.
Oh praise the universe or whatever you believe in, I can shower again!!
Telehealth Activity: Rock, Paper, Scissors
This week, I found yet another adorable activity for your telehealth sessions: an online version of rock, paper, scissors. The graphics are all cats, and I posit there is no greater joy in this world than cats. Photo by Thirdman on Pexels.com Like many of the telehealth activities I have shared over the past four years (my god, has it been four years?!), this one requires both the therapist and client to…

Play therapy is not a “scam.” It’s in fact an evidenced based way to help kids build emotion regulation and communication skills. If you don’t like my content don’t follow me.
Have any of my #ActuallyAutistic people ever done an EEG? I'm reading about how those can be used for diagnostic purposes and though I'm already diagnosed, I'm intrigued and kind of want to see what it says about my brain.
Dating while autistic problems 🤣
Just submitted a book proposal for neurodiversity-affirming mental health care for ADHD-ers - fingers crossed one of my publishers likes it! 🤞
Am I writing book proposals on what is technically a holiday weekend? Mind your own business. 🤣
Is it just me or is every ADHD “life hack” basically this?
Telehealth Activity: Animal DNA Run
It is time for another telehealth activity! By the way, one of the most hilarious things about my job is that I get to play online games to see what might be appropriate for use in my practice. If you ever catch me playing online games in between sessions, don't worry, it's very important for my work. Today's activity is called…

I wrote a post explaining my boundaries around requests to pick my brain and how you can submit a question.

Husband is taking a stats class starting Monday so every time he talks about it I’m gonna say “Wow what are the odds”
Kristi Noem cancelled book tour appearances this week due to "severe weather" in South Dakota. I wanted to let everyone know that, despite this awful, awful weather, we are keeping safe and will somehow survive.
Granted, I live a three hour drive from Kristi, so I included a screen shot of the weather app showing how things are in Pierre today.
Still waiting for the part we need to fix our water heater to arrive.... We paid extra for it to be delivered yesterday and it is not here yet.... 😡
Psychologist, writer, author, speaker. I’m licensed in a few states and living in South Dakota. Or 12 pigeons in a trench coat. I hope you like memes and cat pictures. #ActuallyAutistic, #ActuallyADHD. She/her:rickroll:Please no DMs unless we're mutuals or if I specifically say it's ok.
