I’m looking for a webcomic that’s a guy in a car and this time traveler shows up to save him and then more time travelers show up because the last one failed and the car fills up and he drives off a cliff
My search engine skills are not helping me. Does anyone know what I’m taking about?
Several folks asking who runs this, sorry should’ve included the link originally: https://translifeline.org/
That’s the info including all their privacy stuff. Unfortunately many hotlines in the US are run by Christian orgs that promote conversion therapy. I hate this is needed. 💜
The wind blew our garbage can over and now there’s a possum inside it. We aren’t sure if it’s “playing possum” or if it crawled in there and actually died so now we wait and see if it leaves I guess. Poor guy, I hope it’s ok 💜
So South Dakota is trying to pass an amendment that will deny Medicaid for disabled folks unless they meet certain work requirements. It's called Amendment F. The people (rightly!) opposing the amendment have titled their campaign "F, NO!"
Hello again friends! My other article this month is on being direct vs rude. It's not specific to autism, but I want to speak to my own @actuallyautistic experience of being labeled "rude" because I communicate differently.
If you feel comfortable sharing a quote, please do! I need your name (editor wants at least last initial but I will not know if you just make something up), pronouns, and if you want me to link to your socials, that link.
Favorite trick-or-treater of the night so far was the little ghost who, when I asked, “what’s your favorite candy?” said “TWO!” and took 2 candy bars 🤣
"If you block me it means you think I'm right" actually it means you're annoying and I wasn't enjoying our interaction. Life is too short to use my energy on strangers who suck.
New Zealand has stopped providing support for autistics assessed via telehealth because a lit review w/ most recent citation in 2009 says it’s unclear if we can reliably assess this way. It’s not unclear. We can. I know because I literally wrote multiple books on this and I train other psychologists in telehealth for my job!
Let ppl choose the method of service delivery they’re most comfortable with.
WW Norton, the publisher of my Neurodiversity book (launching April 2025), sent a statement to all their authors stating that they oppose the use of AI to replace authors and committing to never consenting to our books being used to train an AI model. They are lobbing for laws to protect authors from our words being used for this without our consent.
Just thought everyone would like to know that about them. 💜
My editor wants first and last names (or at least last initial) and a social media page link, though you can leave the link out if you prefer to be anonymous.
I will not know if you give me a fake name.
The article topic is "natural remedies for ADHD," so basically alternatives to medication for folks who prefer not to use meds or can't for any reason.
Continuing Education Course: Autism, Trauma, and Mental Health Care
Unfortunately, autism and trauma go hand-in-hand. Autistic people are four times more likely than non-autistics to develop PTSD in their lifetime, develop trauma symptoms following a traumatic event, and live with the chronic stress of existing in a world that is not designed for the way their brain works. Mental health providers who work with autistic clients must be trained in trauma-informed care…
I saw a FB add for a therapist bot and decided to read their privacy policy. They have a cutesy little paragraph that's like, "You can be totally anonymous, we take your privacy seriously, no account needed, click here to read the legalese" and the "legalese" bit said that they access your identifying and contact info, including location, when you download the app and are allowed to track your phone.
All other concerns about therapy AI aside, what the FUCK is THAT.
Psychologist, writer, author, speaker. I’m licensed in a few states and living in South Dakota. Or 12 pigeons in a trench coat. I hope you like memes and cat pictures. #ActuallyAutistic, #ActuallyADHD. She/her:rickroll:Please no DMs unless we're mutuals or if I specifically say it's ok.
