I'm looking for a wifi #router that I can use to isolate iot devices (I try to avoid buying them in the first place, but they insist on putting it in everything), preferably pre-flashed with an open OS. Anyone have any suggestions? The plan is to have it connect to a VPN, and do some rather strict filtering.

@mcc Two points to consider, the good thing about running Debian stable is that you don't need to care much about GNOME breaking extensions "every few months". By the time you get a new GNOME, they'll be fixed. The second is that KDE is probably the more Win10-ish of the DEs out there, they also expose every setting under the sun for customization.
