@SuperDicq putting boot and root on the same disk has always seemed risky to me.
also I hate the fact that the nvme slot doesn't work with msata or whatever that b+m key thing is called.
specs are decent as well when it comes to a homelab computer. so yeah might just give it a shot. i hoard a ton of domains I can use for like you wouldn't believe. i have 20 unused domains.

@SuperDicq i have an optiplex 3050 collecting dust in my room. its an sff one so its gonna be meh when it comes to actual upgradability because god bless proprietary DELL.
ill prob buy a 128gb nvme for boot and put a 4tb drive for root. but even then, I don't have a consistent location to put it. but yeah I guess until the house is sold I got a solid place for it. i just never get myself to buy an nvme.
but lets say I actually have a small labPC to mess around with. id rather rely on well established hosts for decentralised platforms :thinkhappy: -

i am way too serverless-brained to host my own instance.
i most likely will use on of my many domains I've been hoarding. and when i finally decide to host an instance, it would be somewhere i can reach. i don't trust vps with that. -
