NYT: Erasing the reality of combat deaths because Trump doesn't want number to go up. Iran killed those air defenders because Trump started a complete nonsense war when Netanyahu did the same manipulation on him that had failed to work on previous presidents. Trump will forever be a shameful stain on the USA. These troops were killed in a war. Trump's meaningless war of stupidity.

Flock threatens to sue a private group in Southern California that meets regularly to hold discussions and Q&As about diplomacy, law, and philosophy.

It demands that they do not "analyze" or "speculate" on the security vulnerabilities we've confirmed when talking about government surveillance.

Then when you add in how so many people don't even drive to pick up their food and pay someone else to deliver it, I mean, why don't y'all just take your wallets and flush 'em down the toilet?

I think it's been over a year since I ate any fast food. It amazes me that a lot of people spend money at least weekly if not almost daily on prepared food. How can anyone save money doing that? Restaurant food, even if fast food, is super expensive. For instance, I really like Five Guys. Last time I stopped there for a burger while on a trip, their small, single burger was $10. That was maybe 2 years ago. That's completely insane.

Asian country, a CIA officer took me under his wing and we went to a restaurant that was basically some family's kitchen (?!) and we sat here pigging out on freshly made dim sum and pouring drinks from large bottles of beer. The owners sat down with us and chatted for quite a while. I was so jet lagged I thought I was going to pass out, so most of the conversation went past me. But it was certainly different. Then there's Germany, where on various occasions I simply could not get service in restaurants and ended up leaving. Most of the time it's great but sometimes it's like you don't exist.

I'm not seeing much commentary on how the insane sentences for the Texas Prairieland "antifa terrorists" are a symptom of having been tried in Texas, which is how the law works but also subjects protesters to extremist juries and judges in red states & districts. We saw this partisanship happen with Kyle Rittenhouse, as well, when he had a judge who obviously sympathized with him and treated him with special deference throughout the trial as if he was a hero. If these protesters were tried in a blue area and had Dem-appointed judges, certainly the shooter would have been convicted of the shooting but some of the charges might not have stuck to some of the charged protesters, and the sentencing would likely have been wildly different for some or all of them. Is justice blind? Not even slightly. Judges, especially right wing ones, are political activists who are driving agendas as much as any anti-fascist protester.

I was born before the Voting Rights Act. I was born before Roe v. Wade. When I was born living an independent life was purposefully difficult for women and people of color in the white patriarchy, you didn't have the same rights under law as a white man and the society did use that against you. Then things got better over the next few decades for many people, even for LGBTQ people. We had a leap of progress. Some things like pay equality never quite got there, but overall, many repairs were made. We got used to things being better for everyone even if not quite there yet. But during that time regressive right wing extremists of the white patriarchy were plotting and working to set the conditions, such as our current reactionary SCOTUS, to take it all away using religion and bigotry and imaginary law, and their success at that is what we're living through right now. I think most people are disgusted and angered by this, and I hope this lurch backward is just the last gasp of a horrible, dying ideology that we'll overcome within years, not decades. I want to see it happen while I'm still around.

This was in the days when kids could just get on their bikes and ride for miles anywhere they wanted to and nobody worried about them. What a world. I feel bad for today's kids. I really do.

So interesting. I took a walk down memory lane via google maps to see what's become of where I used to live in the late 60s / early 70s outside of Urbana, IL. The old farmstead is long gone but my elementary school is still there and the jr. high is now a middle school with a name change. I noticed the name "Mira" outside of town and recalled us kids riding our bikes from the farm down to "Mira Station," the old grain elevator. Inside the elevator's office, we could buy little glass bottles of pop like Coca-Cola or Yoo-Hoo for a coin, maybe a nickel or dime. And we could sit in there and listen to the farmers gossiping. Anyway, I found an article on Mira Station, which is now long gone. There are a couple of old pictures showing the farmers hanging out in the office. There are live cams on the Kennedy Center due to the deadline for removing Trump's name. What a ridiculous country to be full of complete morons and assholes who happily handed the govt over to malicious kooks who created a situation where this is something people want to see done, live. This situation shouldn't even exist. Republican voters should be shunned because they know. They know what they're doing. And they want it anyway.

Aaaaand, as of moments ago, Federal judge denied Trump request for a stay on removing his name. The removal must now proceed.

The White House put up a website called aliens.gov that makes a joke out of comparing undocumented people to space aliens, has a (fake) counter of arrests of supposed "illegal aliens" which lists over 700 locations of DHS arrests of American citizens and lists Puerto Rico as a foreign country. Etc., etc. This is one of the more mundane things Trump is behind recently. The night before last he went on a social media rage bender and posted like a hundred maniac AI slop memes of himself in the middle of the night. The DOD Office of Strategic Capital was a perfect vehicle for corruption. I get the idea but no. Not with these kinds of people infesting every corner of the supply chain.
