I think I remember some of this in response to the Mastodon foundation accepting Meta and Twitter staff to the board? It's a concern I kind of understand, given the outsized influence Mastodon has on the Fediverse, though I'm not sure how things panned out with that.

Someone just recontextualised it as "lost over half a trillion dollars in market value" rather than just "Nvidia is down 17%" and it's so much funnier lmao

As a side note, Indeed tells you when your application is viewed. Of the 20k job apps I've sent over the last few years, a SOLID 98% of them are just. Never looked at, and the jobs are readvertised in perpetuity.

Ghost hiring really should be a fineable offence.
