The rich old white men didn't connect with the electorate in any meaningful way, and Harris was torpedoed by Biden's absurd plan to thand in the election followed by his handing of the Poisoned Chalice to Her as the party threw him out of the airlock, completely blew their chances. Without the harm done by Biden, I think she could have won.
But the "Commander in Chief" is bravely fighting the dancing girls of TikTok. What a guy.

Both parties were chosen by, and are beholden to the ruling oligarchy.
Overall, the trend over the last fifty years has been toward the reduction of freedoms irrespective of which party was in power.
Underneath the claimed differences, they share a common agenda of seeking more power, more wealth, and more control.

How are you planning to fight for "real freedom?"
