Chatting with my bestie and figuring out one part of ADHD is like having mercury delay lines as short term memory and it's hard work to keep stored what needs to be stored.
And now I'm medicated I have nvram and can rest a bit.

A one-off I liked, in reply to someone somewhere years ago. The photo is a pic of a warning sign they posted. It is poetry. I made it poetry, and remembered it today.
If you liked system 6 & 7, and fuzzy light grey modern macOS annoys you, try Preferences->Accessibility->Display, and turn on Increase Contrast. It took me just half an hour to not find it jarring and now I really dislike going back to the field-of-fog regular UI.
Here it is on Ventura.
(and yes it looks terrible in Dark Mode so maybe skip this one you lot)
Quick & dirty for a friend.
Cordyceps pizza.
The Power Macintosh G6E was terrible. It was twice the width and twice the weight of a regular all-in-one G-series Power Mac, and most collapsed under their own weight. Left to their own devices, many popped out of existence into tiny black holes that quickly evaporated.
The Apple Newton WatchPad was a roaring success in the early 2000s, and dimensionally only a few short hops over.
@sindarina Ahh! that's my IIcx, which can take a lot of RAM. Also the odd ROM there too.
Where I post from.
Apple Programmer's Keyboard II
For completeness' sake.
Due to absolutely contrived and unavoidable reasons that could be any conceptual macguffin, it is completely mandatory for you to change your *last* name.
What's the coolest you'd pick?
A monitor portrait on a portrait monitor.
Needs no introduction.
More fam. Mum taking up a tiger moth because of course she'd fly a plane she's near as old as.
She trained as a pilot in the late 60s and this was one of her gotta-do-it-while-she-still-can things.
This is my mother on the day she kidnapped a goat and as you can tell was quite proud of herself.
The goat was also quite OK with the whole situation.
I still do not know where the goat came from.
If I were to go hunt down an old ThinkPad as the one ThinkPad for my collection, given the Wallstreet PowerBook is one of my ever-favourites, what year & model should I be hovering around?
The Macintosh Quadra 605 Connection Machine had the prettiest insides of any Apple machine, but was hidden inside the case of a barely upgradeable machine.
It's estimated only nine people ever got to see the CM040's blinkenlights.
@coryw @hollie040 I couldn't get anything from a G4 onwards to work with my 640x480 M1212 or 640x870 Portrait. I *think* I got the G3 smurftowers to work happily.
1989's Macintosh SE/30L is remembered as one of Apple's biggest flops. MacWorld criticised its rotated L display as "...bringing all of the issues and none of the benefits of a true L display", while MacWeek called it "Some kind of deranged P display nobody asked for".
