The day after he became Attorney General, Merrick Garland should have brought an indictment against Trump. Instead Garland waited almost two whole years. It was too late. Trump ran out the clock by getting elected president before cases reached their completions. Trump escaped justice.

The Times was also tough on Biden because it disliked his being hidden, unavailable for interviews. Because Biden was hidden from us, people were shocked at how very poorly he did in his political-career-ending debate with Trump. While the New York Times is increasingly anti-Trump and pro-truth, the Washington Post is increasingly pro-Trump.

@gemlog Yes, it is fair to say Trump skates on very flimsy technicalities, but he has not yet violated Constitutional law. He sent soldiers into California, but he withdrew them when courts told him to do so. Why is a felon in the White House? Because he was elected, in part due to his opponent's tolerance of genocide in Gaza. You mentioned other issues that courts are deciding on. As long as Trump obeys courts, he is not violating the Constitution.

@gemlog Earlier today you sent me a long message and I said it is accurate except for a small point about Greenland. I know what was said in public today about Greenland. The best political analysis of those remarks about Greenland is from a man named Shakespeare who wrote: "it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." Shakespeare is right again! When Trump speaks like that he is speaking like an idiot. Trump could defy the Constitution but he has not done it yet.

@gemlog You're welcome! I totally oppose genocide against anyone, and in this case, genocide by Israel against Palestinians. Happily, an increasing number of my country's citizens agree with me about this. I think that the heartless position of Kamala Harris towards war crimes in Gaza was a major factor in her defeat. A report by the Democratic National Committee could confirm this but they decided to cover up that report.

The worst possible nominee for the Democrats in 2028, @gemlog, would be Kamala Harris. Adlai Stevenson ran for president in 1952, lost, ran again in 1956 and lost again. This would also be true if loser Kamala Harris was the nominee in 2028. Learning nothing from Hillary Clinton's campaign, she also ran as the status quo candidate. Learning nothing from her own 2024 campaign, she wrote a book where she blamed everyone except for herself for her loss. And she remains all too tolerant of genocide.

Yes, @gemlog, Trump sometimes jokes about having a #ThirdTerm. He does it to try to give the impression that he is not a lame duck (meaning that he still has a political future after 2028. But he does not, due to term limits.) On #January6th 2021, false electors claimed to have votes for a Trump/Pence ticket.
