@RamenCatholic Oh! By the way, besides a movie or two, there is an adaption of the Hillerman novels. Not an exact adaption, but good. I've only seen the first season. Need to catch the second season. And a 3rd season is scheduled.

As far as who is getting screwed, my reaction depends on who it is.

Some I would generally be sorry for.

Others, well, I would actually laugh is their face...

The Bonneville Power Authority (BPA) layoffs of over 600 is more concerning. They operate the hydroelectric dams on the Columbia River. That's power for CA, OR, and WA. Which may explain the cuts.

Per what passes as the local news, Hanford layoffs/firings are: "More than a dozen" of the 300 Feds at Hanford Ops Office (enviro cleanup), a "handful" (Office of Science?) of the 36 Feds who oversees PNNL. All of these were new 'probationary' employees less than 2 years service.

At least 35 Feds signed up for the 'early retirement' scam.

Site has about 10,000 contract employees (best guess).
