If Claude were human it would learn from you even if they didn't record what it learned in a notebook, two or three times and they would remember.

Not so with Claude. If it isn't written down it will not remember it. Its mind doesn't have memory. It remembers things by writing them in a markdown file.

It's like the movie Memento, where the main character tattoos the info he needs on his body. And then proceeds to misunderstand it. Claude is just like that. :-)

    # Using AI to sort out the noise

    http://scripting.com/2026/06/12/143641.html

I put together an app with the help of Claude that takes the name of a place, person or thing, and publishes a page on a static site.

Who wins the peering wars? Mastodon by a mile.

That piece flowed through a lot of servers to get here, and it was preserved at each step.

It's not an unlimited deal, there are still character limits, and rendering glitches, but it is remarkable.

Credit goes to the folks at Automattic for working so diligently to make the pipes work.

There’s going to be a lot of new web software products in the coming months. The competition changes from managing complexity, to who sees the best way to remix the web. There are a lot ways to do it. 😀

I'd like to come up with a list of formats, protocols and products that have become defaults for AI work.

Examples -- markdown, github, jsonl, python.

    What others?

I'll post a list on my blog, if there's any response, also posting this on bluesky, twitter, my blog of course. ;-)

Just learned about jsonl yesterday, I'm hoping I don't have to wait to trip over something else low-tech, useful and not owned by anyone.

    Every social web needs avatars.

In an RSS 2.0 feed look for the channel-level image element.

It's how they do it in WordPress.

the answer is to have the paywall handled by a third party, and you pay per article read, not give all your money to one publication. yes this has problems too, but at least you can read the one piece per year from an out of town news org that touches on something you need/want to know about.

Once there's a standard for representing text on the web, feed readers and the social web become the same thing.

I envision a network of twitter-like systems built out of components of the web and nothing more. Every part replaceable.

It's really easy to get me to follow you.

Post a thoughtful comment on something I wrote.

It's also really easy to get blocked.

Post something idiotic or insulting, or just personal, without a second thought poof you're gone.

    RE: https://daveverse.org/2026/03/28/blueskys-future-for-devs/

BTW, as you read this, note that Mastodon does not have the limits I write about. The whole post is here, including links. They could do a little better, but this is a huge advantage that Mastodon has, thanks to the open power of ActivityPub.

I have a question about Automattic‘s new wordpress server in a sandbox, does it support the wpcom api?

Btw, I don’t like slack, and I lost my twitter account so it’s down to Bluesky and mastodon for communicating with other Wordpress devs, unless i’m missing something. 😀

if i ran firefox, this is what i would say wrt AI in firefox in 2026.

    1. ai is exciting!

    2. it's also in its infancy.

    3. we don't know yet how or if it connects to the web.

    4. the web is 100% our #1 priority.

    5. so we're going to wait.

    6. for now firefox is a no-ai browser.

    7. we won't include ai until we know why.

    8. and then it will be opt-in.

    9. and we will continue to make firefox the best web browser.

    sincerely,

    the developers of firefox
