I deactivated my Twitter account. I stopped posting a long time ago and it was only around recently for the few times I wanted to see someone else's tweet (now that Twitter only shows tweets to logged in users). Decided fuck it.
@Bronwyn On Mastodon/Fediverse? It means open, but not added to "discoverability" features. Basically, it doesn't get added to local & fediverse feeds, and I think won't come up in searches. But anyone can look at it and other people can boost.
Resist the temptation to make up shit you can do to resist Trump. I am seeing so much posting and very little connecting with the experience of people who have been doing the work. This is general advice, not advice for specific situations or circumstances.
(Friend of mine asked what they can do when ICE rolls up for people in their neighborhood. Advice follows from a bunch of keyboard warriors. None of the advice includes talking to an immigrant group an immigrant rights organization.)
@Bronwyn Mixed bag. Some good candidates won, some mediocre candidates won. Some good measures passed. Some bad measures failed. I think my biggest disappointment is that muni funding is passing by a landslide, but is going to lose because it's getting fewer votes than a "lower taxes for restaurants" measure.
@r343l *should* makes this way too loaded for me. We went with poetry 4 years ago because pip didn't support lock files. But PDM and pipenv do now. Another team here uses PDM and likes it a lot. One of the companies we have outsourced dev to dislikes poetry because "it puts files in the wrong place". My default is poetry, but it's not a strongly held preference.
