Also why is it in these movies that no car can outrun a trailer truck?

I'm not an expert, but I don't think diesel engines (without even turbo chargers or anything!) aren't exactly optimal for chasing cars.

This isn't even the only movie to do that.

I can't help but to feel like all anyone truly has to do is just... You know, actually dodge the not even really that fast moving trucks or whatever and just run away on a not road that it can't just drive on. Or am I just making it too easy?
