So, y'all thought ChatGPT was bad? Well look at what Bard spat out for someone.
User: "If 1+1=2, then what is 1+2?" Bard: "If 1+1=2 then1+2=4. This is because 1+ 1 = 2 is a false statement. In mathematics, 1+ 1= 2 is not a valid equation. It is not possible to add 1and 1 and get 2."
@MariahL@FreakyFwoof@BrailleScreen I don't think that's bad. I mean, I've found a few cool ones, like Bassalisk born, and ones that are really dark, where Harry goes all revenge mode after being time traveled and makes himself a horcrux, all that. But yeah I really like it.
@MariahL@FreakyFwoof@BrailleScreen Hmm. Oh yeah. Harem ones. I just can't do it. I don't want a harem. I can barely deal with one girl full of energy and wanting to go places and go go go, let alone like 3 or 4 or 10 or over 9000. So yeah the harem ones. I don't think I'd like DraMione either. Ugh Eloquence doesn't say it right. Draco and Hermione. But I've not read one yet either so I try not to judge those too much. And honestly spelling and grammar errors get to me a little, but I don't worry about those too much. After all, I have trouble keeping tenses correct in anything I write, going from present to past tense and such.
You know, Alt text is really freaking important. But when all your Alt text is is something like:
Some options that Google’s Ad Manager currently offers for targeting your campaign by user interests.
Well, what options are those? This doesn't help me. Now, here's AI:
The image shows a computer screen with an open web browser displaying a user interface for selecting audience segments as part of an advertising or marketing campaign. The interface enables the user to add or observe audience segments based on their interests and habits related to television viewing. The options visible include:
- TV Lovers - Documentary & Nonfiction TV Fans - Family Television Fans - Game, Reality & Talk Show Fans - Sci-Fi & Fantasy TV Fans - TV Comedy Fans - TV Drama Fans
Now, I know, 100% of that could be made up. I'm sure the AI-hessitant people will say that it is anyway. But my goodness, having Alt text just for the sake of Alt text, just doesn't help.
So, who knew you could open a new Word document on Windows with Control + Alt + Windows + Shift + W? Why in the world? Ugh there just needs to be a "show me all the stupid Windows hotkeys that no one knows about" command.
I wonder if Retroarch could be configured to send a screenshot of a video game and then have that converted into a machine-readable image of items around the screenshot, and the player's position, and then allow the player to choose an item to navigate to from there? Just like, a random idea. I don't know how much GPT4 vision API makes the screenshot smaller or downscales it.
When audioCues.clear is enabled, a sound indicates that the terminal, a notification, or the chat responses have been cleared. In files and notebooks, audioCues.save and audioCues.format can be set to play on user gesture or always for each event. While disabled, an ARIA alert is used instead and can be customized with accessibility.alert.format and accessibility.alert.save.
Windows magnifier synced
The windows magnifier now follows the cursor in VS Code properly.
Accessible View improvements
By default, a user's cursor is positioned at the bottom of the terminal Accessible View; to preserve the position instead, you can set terminal.integrated.accessibleViewPreserveCursorPosition to true. The Accessible View can be hidden with accessibility.hideAccessibleView, useful if sharing one's screen with an audience of sighted users. The Accessible View now closes when a user starts typing and focuses the prior element for a smoother work flow.
Text editor in window title focused view
Last iteration, we added a ${focusedView} variable to window.title. We now also indicate when a Text Editor is focused.
Just FYI, a lot of #ActuallyBlind people don't like the TouchBar on MacBooks. I know a few people that do, but a lot of important VoiceOver commands use the function keys. So without them, we have to hold down the FN key and press the number for the function key. It's really awkward and really frustrating.
On the other hand, it's awkward to type Control + Option + F2 even on a MacBook *with* function keys on a MacBook keyboard. I honestly think that Apple needs to give us more options for these keyboards. Want a TouchBar? Fine. Want a full-sized keyboard on your 16-inch MacBook, with all modifiers on both sides of the keyboard? Great! Want a TouchBar *and* function keys? maybe a bit more expensive, but that's fine too. It doesn't *have* to be one or the other. The only reason it is is because of Apple. And before some reply guys come up here with pre-cum on their Apple boner, saying that that'd cost Apple way too much money to handle all those permutations, nah. they can handle it. If they can handle all their iPhones, they can handle this.
@kde@gnutelephony@jcsteh@ubuntu So I tried to join the Matrix room, but do I have to make an account on the KDE server to join it? I'm using Element. Is there an FAQ that talks about how to do this?
so my start menu stopped working again. On a whim, I hit Windows + S to see if the search box thing would open. It didn't. But then I hit the windows key again, and the start menu works again now. Somehow. For some reason. Anyway yeah that's a thing.
@kkarhan@jcsteh@ubuntu Lol. Yeah. Linux is better for non-disabled people, yes. I've tried, time and time again, over several years, to switch to Linux. They've *all* failed. So enjoy your foss and hope you never go blind.
Please boost for reach: Fedora Linux is focusing on accessibility for the next five years. I'd love to see people with disabilities, very much including blind people, comment on this. If you're interested in Linux, or free and open source software, your voices are valuable. I hope Fedora finds our voices valuable too.
I am blind. Because of course I have to mention it in my profile. Accessibility drives me. I use all the major operating systems in some way, and find great things about all of them. I also enjoy reading, eating, relaxing, eating more, and chatting. I want to be a cat when I grow up.My opinions are my own, and definitely do not reflect those of my employer.
