so my start menu stopped working again. On a whim, I hit Windows + S to see if the search box thing would open. It didn't. But then I hit the windows key again, and the start menu works again now. Somehow. For some reason. Anyway yeah that's a thing.
@devinprater @kkarhan@mstdn.social @jcsteh@ubuntu I am in this very situation. What we had back in say 2002 would have been FAR more usable to me than what we have with gnome and wayland today. I am hoping just maybe @kde may yet get this right...
@kkarhan@jcsteh@ubuntu Lol. Yeah. Linux is better for non-disabled people, yes. I've tried, time and time again, over several years, to switch to Linux. They've *all* failed. So enjoy your foss and hope you never go blind.
@kde@devinprater@jcsteh@ubuntu well, to start with, that goals page is not readable to me (well, outside of using tts). It would help if it supported the browsers chosen theme, but it seems to only offer black text on bright white for me. Having better accessibility considered in user facing sites would be a nice place to start.
@kde@devinprater@jcsteh@ubuntu I did not mean to pick on that, but we do need to be more than aspirational. Accessibility should be part of everything we try to do, and different people have different needs.
You can create a user on KDE's server (kde.org) or connect from another Matrix server if you already have an account there.
Just make sure that when you are searching for rooms, you choose the KDE server from the drop down menu in the upper right hand corner of the dialogue.
@kde@gnutelephony@jcsteh@ubuntu So I tried to join the Matrix room, but do I have to make an account on the KDE server to join it? I'm using Element. Is there an FAQ that talks about how to do this?
