In 2025, sociology journals published 131 articles with authoritarian* in the abstract. For the first months of 2026 the share of such sociology articles is about 4-times higher than before Trump's first election.

I often find it weird that they call terrorists "cowards," but it makes sense at least when they're attacking unarmed civilians. This guy essentially launched a one-person frontal assault on an armed police post. You could say idiotic, misguided, despicable, evil, etc., but I don't see coward.

UMD put up fencing and metal detectors, and flew up a security drone, as if to justify their failed claim that security was the reason for revoking the Palestinian protest permit today - overturned by a federal judge. The event went fine. A few hundred folks, speeches, prayers, Palestine flag.

Absolutely sickening

Israel's pager bombing appears to be simple state terrorism, predictably causing indiscriminate violence and suffering among many noncombatants. The Israeli actors couldn't know and apparently didn't care where the thousands of devices were when they blew them up. What a world.
