Don’t cede any grounds anywhere to transphobia and racism. If you’re seeing this becoming normalised where you work or live resist it. I know there are caveats to this depending on how vulnerable you are, but apply this general rule.

Please don’t confuse Trump says or Trump wants with the US having the capacity to do the thing Trump says or wants. What he’s proposing is monstrous, but not surprising. It’s the logical next step of existing US policy, and it has a long track record of failing.

My worry isn’t even just the threat itself, but the pain and suffering he can cause even if it ultimately fails. Again, the US military has a long track record of failing to achieve its own stated goals, and this would be unlike anything they’ve ever tried.

My worry is basically that the US is unable to do anything effectively besides mass destruction. That’s the only thing the US state has been good at for a long time now. Them ‘failing’ in Gaza would still mean more widespread horrors.

In case this isn’t clear: Palestinians are not going anywhere. You’ve failed for a century to erase Palestinians and you will fail again.

I downloaded old iTunes. I'm struck by how much more customizable it is than Apple Music and the rest of it.

My iPod is also 17-year-old. 120GB. Works perfectly. Even got a Bluetooth adapter. No ads, no subscriptions, no tracking. Just a durable, functional device. Enshittification is real.

@partnumber2 that's not the story here. The story is that he did invite people he *wants* to be political leaders including as British PMs. He invited world leaders in addition to those he likes like Farage and co.

Trump did not invite France’s Macron, the UK’s Starmer or Germany’s Scholz for the inauguration but instead invited those countries’ fascists Reconquest/Zemmour (France), the AfD/Weidel (Germany) and Reform/Farage (UK).

As a friend just said, it’s not an inauguration. It’s a rally.
