The origin for this I'm not sure but two possibities are of course her 1977 film 'Annie Hall' OR from her mother who was 'Dorothy Deanne Keaton'.

Annie known for playing eccentric, free-spirited, often independent-minded characters was a Hollywood pioneer in starting the tendency of women to dress in traditionally male clothing.
