Communities, care, and material support are not part of this at all.

@HauntedOwlbear @forestine I guess as more to what I was saying. Just "making do" dows look different along gender lines, but also through class, and cultural lines.

"Making do" more often looks like deeper investment and entrenchment into a protestant work ethic, that the more one works, and suffers, that the more one is regarded.

Maybe I don't define resilience as inherently masc, but I do see a line here where maybe I was taught to be resilient through resourcefulness and being able to just "make do" but I'm not entirely sure if that's a masc thing?

Maybe yeah. to "fix things" maybe comes in line with being a "provider" or whatever. but I just see it as survival for worse things in adaptability in harder times.
