That's the thing. Pretty sure it went out of print a couple decades ago. It had dialogues like how to ask the staff to bring more fuel for the kotatsu because the room at the ryokan was cold.

OK #nihongo people, my Google Fu is failing me and so is my brain. There was a very common Japanese language textbook in the '80s. Simple orange and black cover. I think the first edition had come out in the '50s? Can't for the life of me find it. I think it was just called Learning Japanese. Anybody remember it?

With great trepidation I am about to re-enter and catch up on a slack channel where people were live chatting the presidential debates. A friend warned me, "You're fucked."

Just finished a one hour Bahasa Indonesia lesson using iTalki. Site name sounds silly when you say it out loud, but a good way to find experienced teachers. My instructor teaches English and Indonesian at a university in Malang and has visited Keio and Kanda Universities in Tokyo, so he knew my context quite well. Very helpful. #Bahasaindonesia
