Racing the fading daylight and also a very long train.

A soggy 5k that felt pretty good. I’m still rebuilding lost fitness, but feeling relatively strong at the end of a run is encouraging.
I really love running in darkness. No people to dodge around and very few distractions … just you and your thoughts. Or lose the thoughts and just be. I find it mentally cleansing.

Tactical success for Forest (and good fortune), but I don’t necessarily think it a tactical failure from #LFC. The squad simply was not sharp. Passes played lazily, final decisions poor, lack of defensive discipline. Worst game I’ve seen from Salah in ages.
I suppose an argument could be made that Mac Allister is critically important and removing him was a mistake. But I think the longer view wins. He was a question mark coming in and LFC cannot have him miss time with injury.

Finished "A Prayer for the Crown-Shy" by Becky Chambers. It's the second book in the "Monk & Robot" series.
The series is ostensibly about a robot delegate returning from self-exile in the wilderness to learn what it is humans need.
However, it's really an exploration of what it means to not know, to feel lost, to struggle to find a purpose. And Chambers does so well, as always, to write wonderfully unique but complementary characters.
4/5 stars #bookstodon

First outing in a week and half and my fitness has suffered. Thick, humid air didn’t help matters either. #Running

Cold & windy! On this track, the wind always comes in parallel to the straightaways. One corner is cut into a hillside, so often you suffer the headwind but never get to profit from the tailwind. And yet, tonight both were present in force!
🌬️🏃♀️💨
I never looked at my watch until it was over. I just let the run take me in that meditative way that can be both tranquil and refreshing. A delightful finish to the week. #Running
