The politics in them might not work for you if you're looking for something that helps you explore anarchism deeply. But I guess when I was younger there was a lot that prodded me to think more carefully and compassionately about my political approach.

These days one of the most striking books I've read is Paved Paradise, by Henry Grabar.
I am so furious that we must all live (and some of us die) like this.
We could have a better world. There is enough. We could all be safe, we could all have food, we could all have housing, we could all get around with wrecking the planet.
We could do what is necessary and still spend time on love and creation.
There could be forests, there could be deserts full of life, the sea could be alive with whales and tiny crawling things in the depths.
The accumulation of power in a few hands, and the failure of many of us to do what we can to resist it, keeps us *here*, where even those of us with the rare luck to be safe are still washed over with horror.
