And the masks don't prevent you from getting the virus, just from you transmitting it.

Next time you have a surgery ask the surgeon and other staff not to wear any masks because you don't have a disease.

@FortyTwo @Richard like what am I supposed to do then. It's fine nothing happens when you wear a mask. Wait I guess. Like you can't hear someone as easily. What am I supposed to do as a student when after one year randomly the school has to close for months and when finally it actually reopens you get have to do a test and wear a mask. Sometimes it really is just go along with the thing and there you go. I'm not gonna stop the apprenticeship. That would be shitty.

@FortyTwo @Richard or like when you'd supervisor says machine 4 is broken again and that it's probably one of the contactors for the heaters just stuck. And then you just don't do it lol

And you just sit there saying "you can't tell me to do anything. I have freedom" and then play gta on your phone. That is not helpful is it.

@Richard @FortyTwo if we can assume people at stuff like the CDC do at least part of them want to try keeping people healthy. Then when a new disease pops up, or an old one returns or whatever.
I don't think it is unreasonable to try protective measures. Because it's new shit.

If anything I am advocating for the idea of "OK. Lets try to not have this new thing spread everywhere quickly" if it really was a new virus.

I think there is a language problem maybe. Since someone put a like a hidden Reply to that post. In my mind so far mask has meant basically everything that covers your face. Including military gear and respirators and stuff like that.
Like the respirator I have to use at work sometimes when doing annoying horrible things with carbon brushes.

I just don't think big generalised judgements are a good thing. Things are complex. And almost all complex problems can't really be solved by "simple solutions".
