"You know what would really hurt Musk? Jailbreaking every Tesla in Europe so that all its subscription features – which represent the highest-margin line-item on Tesla's balance-sheet – could be unlocked by any local mechanic for €25. That would really kick Musk in the dongle." - @pluralistic https://pluralistic.net/2025/03/04/object-permanence/#picks-and-shovels

@pluralistic 's useful protip for the Department of Government Efficiency (DoGE): "It's pretty easy to cut $2 trillion from the federal budget, actually" and shows them what to cut: https://pluralistic.net/2025/01/27/beltway-bandits/#henhouse-foxes

Yay, my @pluralistic Humble Bundle is paying off. I didn't know about the connection between his book Radicalized and current events. Now I'll just download it and read it in the way I like. https://craphound.com/radicalized-full/

@ben "you need to deploy as much as you can as early as possible, and you need to do the scariest changes as early as you can possibly do them."

Mark Twain was a PM? "If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning."

@pluralistic writes, "The people who need the most help under Trump will be too embroiled in the fight for their own survival to put together the kind of movement that can make a difference." which reminds me of this magnificent comic that I reshared on Google+ back in the day.

@mathowie I wish more Californians read @pluralistic 's The Bezzle, which got into issues with California's prison system. They might've better understood the measure.

I was amused to see that @pluralistic used the ActivityPub/Mastodon username format in his pluralistic.net blog post when he mentioned the EFF. (Literal quote below, I did not do the at-mention.)

"I wrote about the lawsuit this week for @eff's Deeplinks blog"
