Finally finished the scheme of power input in RVDesktop Mini. And at the same time I decided to equip different parts of the power supply system with power sensors INA226

Found a collection of GBA roms on an old flash drive and decided to see how the GBA emulator would work on the TH1520 and it works pretty well here :ablobcatblink:

I decided to work in freecad, but the powervr driver hints that nothing will work yet :ablobcatbongoangry:

I decided to equip the function row of keys with backlighting.

I ordered a small kit for keyboard to get an idea of the dimensions. And yes, the thickness of RVLaptop Mini will be large, the bottom half alone will be about 16 - 18 millimeters thin :ablobcatbongokeyboard:
Also i ordered a board with a new SoC that has 8 cores on the new RVA22 profile :ablobcatblink:

There's something about this design :ablobcatbongokeyboard:

So many hopes and desires and all negated by a crooked vector block :ablobcatbongokeyboard:

I will have to check local git server running on allwinner d1-h for GhostWrite vulnerability (memory access bypassing MMU). And it is very likely that all devices with XuanTie cores will have to disable vector block.

A small change of RVLaptop Mini format, earlier it was conceived as a laptop for once and therefore in the design quite a lot of ready-made parts from other laptops. And gradually, of course, it got custom elements, but now I decided to start almost everything from the beginning and make it completely on custom parts, so that it can be produced normally in the future :ablobcatbongokeyboard:
It will still be a 10-inch notebook with a RISC-V processor. But only the processor will be different, more powerful and without XuanTie cores with a lot of bugs. Many components will remain the same, because the new processor is very similar in peripherals to the old one, except that it has more USB and PCIe :ablobcatbongokeyboard:
It also means that there will no longer be a JMS583 adapter in the schematic because there is a native PCIe :ablobcatblink:
It is also possible that OcuLink with PCIe 3.0 x2 will be added to the ports :ablobcatblink:
Also, due to the processor change, the RAM changes from 16 GiB LPDDR4x to 32 GiB LPDDR5 :ablobcatbongokeyboard:
The only omission in new SoC will CPU cores implement only RV64GC, so there will be no vector expansion. But the processor cores themselves have become much more powerful. Also the iGPU is about 5 times more powerful than in TH1520 :ablobcatbongokeyboard:
P.s. This is my first project that has such a high complexity, so I make mistakes quite often and then fix them or redo everything again. And now I've decided to redo everything once again :ablobcatblink:

And yes, the new SoC is the ESWIN EIC7700.
Also based on RVLaptop Mini will be created RVLaptop Matrix, which will have the same set of peripherals, but will have one "small" difference in the main system.

It's even possible that the Matrix will be ready even earlier than the Mini. Even though it's more complicated for some reasons. And all because of the easy availability of components and documentation for them.

By the way RVLaptop Matrix will be powered by an AMD chip with either 2 or 4 gigabytes of RAM. And also 2 or 4 cores RV64GC depending on the user's wishes.
P.s. Matrix version will be designed to work with LiteX project.

I decided to cheapen the RVLaptop Mini main board a bit. For this reason, the radio module, nvme drive and its controller were moved outside the motherboard, and all connectors on the main board were replaced with FPC. All the matter is that the main board will consist of 6 or 8 layers, and such boards are quite expensive in manufacturing, so the smaller the cheaper you can make it. But for the rest of the board is mostly enough 2 layers and only the trackpad board requires 4 layers, but that's because two layers are given to the realization of the capacitive grid :neocat_cool:

The PCIe Switch for the VisionFive 2 has finally arrived, all that's left is to find the power supply, video card and adapters for it :neocat_astronaut:

It's been a long time since I've seen such a small temperature when running the CPU at full power, the load was a BOX64 compilation on all 4 cores :revblobfoxcomfycomputer:

I continue to build RISC-V Desktop. Finally came the cooling system for VF2, now waiting for PCIe Switch in M2 2280 form factor :ablobcatbongokeyboard:

I decided to equip the RVLaptop Mini with native gigabit internet. And as a connector will be used ix60g, it is smaller than rj45 so it fits perfectly into the concept of a small 10 inch laptop :revblobfoxcomfycomputer:
