@danderson I deployed an approved change one Friday night in 2008 to every National Australia Bank workstation.

It removed the core banking software. That was ... not the intent.

I spent 12 hours pushing the new software out to every site (~2,000), and writing a script to force reboot every workstation (~30k+). Before 08:00. With the major incident management line going the entire time. (They were great.)

I feel for whomever did this today. Shit happens.

@binarydigit @MC_ThomThom HomePods are really handy. I love not having to have them wired together, makes for a really neat setup.

To be clear though, you’re just after nice speakers? You’re not actually mixing or anything? HomePods won’t work for that ‘cos wireless latency.

The newspaper used to cost money.

I'd buy the Independent for my train ride to London. Back in the early 2000s I guess it was about a pound. Every day I'd spend a pound to read the news.

Hundreds of thousands of people would do the same. That money went to the newspaper, who used it to sustain their business; to pay their rent.

And to pay the journalists that wrote all the content. Who then used that money to pay their rent, and to eat.

Doesn't seem _that_ difficult a concept to grasp?

I've got about $300 in Airtable credit that I can give away. Referral signups drip-feed me $10 here and there and my actual account has more than enough to last me a while.

Could anyone use it? Would prefer to give to someone who actually needs it vs. tyre-kickers.

These microphone icons in macOS' Settings > Sound?

They're buttons. They decrease/increase the volume or input level by 10%. 🤯

The only question remains why the tick marks on the slider are spaced such that they divide the slider in to 6 unequal parts.
