A new Jay Glass Dubs recording, fuck yeah. My album of the weekend with the first track dropping into a polyrhythmic black hole. I’ve always loved his work and had no clue that this producer is from Greece until this evening. Not that it matters, sonically or other.

A 2024 Vladislav Delay recording that I’m just noticing. It’s from his Dacefloor Classic Series whatever that is. Seems like heavily chopped classics to the point of rhythmic absurdity. Alan Sparhawk’s White Roses,
my God album is a fitting continuation of Low’s sonic explorations. I’m sure it will turn some off with the vocals but if they’d stick with it there’s a lot of interesting content here.

This is an excellent music listening night! Don’t sleep on Lady Gaga’s Harlequin record. It’s her doing jazz/ show tunes and oh boy does she sound great! She leans into everything she sings with such skill.

@rossgrady Mine has weird fuzzy bleed through that plasma’s sometimes seemed to get. It makes me sad even though it’s mostly fine. :)

This new Jamie xx full length has its moments in a UK dance floor kind of way but it’s still a bit thin and lacking a certain something. Perhaps I’m simply being overly critical but I really wanted to love this recording.

In 2006 Fishtown’s Johnny Brenda’s opened its upstairs music venue with The War on Drugs, Jack Rose & Meg Baird. It was an odd, mostly uneven affair where you could hardly hear JR or MB but I do remember The War on Drugs and sort of remember them sounding like above from what I can recall. I’ve never been a massive fan even though I love Kurt Vile. I’m going to listen to their first couple of recordings over the next few days just the same.

New Danny Brown single is quite good. I don’t keep up with all of his music but I check in on what he’s creating a few times a year.. Warp is definitely the perfect home for his music without question.
