Scanner adds his array of electronics clouding but never deterring from Neil Leonard on sax and other improvising musicians. Skirting lines between jazz, electronics and other dance floor forms is what these tracks do best. Just to add, his videos cover a wide range of topics but sometimes his neighborhood visits take a slightly darker turn. Kensington is a neighborhood he went to school in and still covers widely on his channel. He gives this place the life it deserves with how he covers it. This neighborhood is never painted with the brush he gives it and he’s just about the only one who does.

Philly Captain is a YouTuber who rallied Philadelphians to clap for Trey Turner when he was slumping early in his time here. He was in a local punk band called Public Urination who me and my friends hung around with in my high school years. His channel is a perfect summation of what being a Philadelphian is all about good, bad & ugly. He shares a deep knowledge of Philly and most importantly our neighborhoods and their stories/histories. He’s worth a sub, if you sub.

It’s almost an oddball whiteboy take on something that ends up reminding me of RnB. I write that without any malice as the music he creates has a tenderness to it that’s hard to dismiss.

I heard the indicast guys clowning on Cigarettes After Sex and though it’s a name I’ve seen I’ve never paid much attention to them until X’s. I put it on as I drifted to sleep and lyrics aside I enjoyed the sound he creates. I wasn’t expecting what I was hearing in that I assumed they were a straight ahead post punk inspired rock band. Dreamy, lovely, gorgeous textures with the aforementioned lyrical content which I also didn’t mind. I’m glad I had a listen to what Greg Gonzales creates.

Evil Orange Cassidy is coming! His dark Ryu version on the horizon. He’s the best character in wrestling. He’s an amazing athlete, artist & Philadelphian!

Are the Flac files you listen to through Apple Music Alac files and not traditional Flac files? Just some meaningless shit that I’m thinking about tonight.
