Okay here's the short version:
- Last month, the Supreme Court effectively repealed the Voting Rights Act of 1964, making it dramatically harder to challenge electoral maps which dilute the political voting power of people of color,
- And then within two weeks, nine different MAGA states immediately redrew their electoral maps in order to dilute the political voting power of people of color.
- Several Democratic held states then tried to redraw their own maps to favor Democrats, and were immediately blocked from doing so by MAGA judges.
- So, whatever party currently holds federal power can now legally redraw election maps at any time for any reason (even racist ones), to give themselves an unfair advantage, and can also use the courts to block any opposition.
- This is now the new normal.
