I found out a while back too that you can request eye dilation drops, usually just used for kids, if you have a habit of trying to over-focus during the exam too. Apparently it's a bit of an autistic trait to essentially strain to read the letters rather than just saying what's possible without straining, which can lead to inaccurate prescriptions
