    @youronlyone Sorry, I meant alt-text. Wrong terminology.

    @youronlyone I saw someone post on Bluesky about how the AI generated captions are crap and really unhelpful, was that the same post? I haven't personally seen any of those captions.

    People who worked from home were better rested, didn't have to endure the stress of dysfunctional transit (not mentioned), had more time for family and friends, for housework, even for eating meals (which may mean they ate healthier) and also spent less time trying to make themselves presentable for work. But sadly, they weren't spending money downtown. /s

    I see the person behind this event "himself runs several similar looking blogs and websites under different names." This is a tactic used regularly by right-wing groups and individuals who want to make it look like there is more support for their cause than there really is.

    I think I RTed this earlier, but the article makes no mention of the fourth speaker, Julie Ponesse, "PhD in Ethics and Ancient Philosophy" also an anti-vaccine-mandate martyr. She's now working with "The Democracy Fund" which also supports people like anti-trans campaigner Meghan Murphy and Convoy-famous Tamara Lich https://pressprogress.ca/ottawa-book-festival-platforming-far-right-speakers-uses-fake-employees-and-misleading-sponsors/

    I think this is going to be the norm... recently a family member of a friend of mine was in Florida and had an accident, and ended up dying in hospital there instead of at home - no beds were available in Ontario https://globalnews.ca/news/10460063/injured-man-abroad-hospital-beds/
