@CloudyMrs People from/living in the US, or USians. Super awkward, I know, but so is the name of their country.
Apologies for coming in hot, by the way. I know that it's a common usage and all that, it's just very irksome once you think about it.

@CloudyMrs FYI: "Americans" aren't a thing. The americas span multiple continents, dozens of countries, and hundreds, if not thousands, of peoples. You're meaning the USA. Using "Americans" as a shorthand, while (unfortunately) very common, especially in the UK for some reason, plays into their nationalist, manifest destiny narrative, and would be similar to calling everyone living on Britain, English.
@CloudyMrs Fewer guns, especially in public, but there are a lot fewer differences than most settler canadians would care to admit. When it comes to car culture, we're no less bad, for sure. The supposed politeness that we're famous for is more about passive-aggressiveness and toxic positivity than actually being kind.
@CloudyMrs Canadians too... /cough
😃
@CloudyMrs No, it's an open secret that homicide is functionally legal in North America as long as your victim is outside of a car, and your vehicle is your weapon. You just need to say "they just jumped out of nowhere", everyone will believe you, and you might get a fine or a month or three of license suspension, if that.
