Spent the day talking with Prince Edward Islanders, doing what they can to prevent supercharged erosion.

Today crews covered this cliff in brush and hay, trying to protect the seeds planted underneath. Those seeds are part of a “living shoreline” ecosystem they’re trying to foster, believing that rooted plants are the most effective way to keep topsoil from washing away.

Post-Fiona, an “exponential” number of Islanders are trying to slow erosion, some seeing it as an existential threat.
