But anither affae important hing fir me is thit thaim thit cam afore us talked an wrote Scots tae - an ower the past 700 year oor documents, literature an history is wrote in Scots.

We need #Scots literacy tae access aw that!

I'll work out how to set my posts to be default tagged to #Scots, as I default post in Scots. That, hopefully will allow you to follow me and switch off my Scots tweets. I will switch the tags to English when I post in English. And, hopefully down the line, to announce we have a screen reader that works on Scots text! (A long term and work intensive job that I know how to implement, but don't have the funding to do yet.)

I'll write this one in English for reasons I hope will become apparent.

We got #Scots into the Mastodon code. This is great for our language and its speakers.

I choose and want to write in Scots, however I speak with people who use screen readers, and they wind up unfollowing me because Scots through an English language reader can be bad.

There is not yet a Scots text to speech reader. For now reader users can filter out Scots tagged text, and not unfollow altogether.
