I agree with Simon Rosenberg. In Harris-Walz, we are seeing the best-run & most remarkable campaign in modern history. Campaign manager Jen O'Malley Dillon is a brilliant strategist & the ground game will ensure a strong finish. Harris' speech on the Ellipse in front of 75K people was a master-stroke. SNL was an exclamation point. Since that Sunday in July Harris has been pitch-perfect. Just a joy to watch.
The Guardian is now running the story of over 100 hours of tape that show #Trump's close ties to #Epstein. This is based on info from author Michael Wolff, who has been offering the story to American media for weeks--with no takers. The media is #complicit.
I worked in communications, public relations & advertising for years. But honestly--I didn't think people were this easily manipulated. To put it another way, I didn't know there was so much anger & racism. It's been a learning curve.
The Trump campaign has been a freefall into the abyss. 'Eating cats & dogs' was insane. The 'garbage man' photo op was insane. The economic so-called policies are insane. Calling for mass deportations is insane. Calling for Liz Cheney's execution is insane. The closing argument is doubling down on insanity, lies & hate. That the media props up a deranged convicted felon while treating all this as normal proves we are in an information war funded by billionaires. A new day is coming.
Should have known there is an actual 'Dead cat strategy.' Wikipedia defines it as "the political strategy of making a shocking announcement to divert media away from problems or failures in other areas." Trump & Vance are incredibly lazy--among other things. But what excuse does the media have?
Over 8 short weeks Kamala Harris gained the Democratic nomination, united the party, selected a running mate, raised massive amounts of cash, barnstormed swing states, headlined a prime-time convention, rolled out a platform & decimated Donald Trump in a debate. Harris & her team demonstrated the vision, tactics, discipline, energy, momentum, resources, organization & will to win. The Trump campaign not so much.
@Lizette603_23'm encouraged by the fact that Harris & Walz seem to enjoy working hard. Also, by reports that Harris is tough to brief because she's actually read the briefing notes & asks tough questions. Hard work is good work.
@DebErupts@Lizette603_23 Just about every CEO & economist in the country trusts Harris more than Trump on the economy. There's no comparison. Trump has no plan. Or even concept of a plan.
Tim Walz' first experience with a teleprompter was just a couple of weeks ago. But Walz is a naturally gifted communicator, and Republican kryptonite: "While other states were banning books from their schools, we were banishing hunger from ours."
Democracy is my drug of choice. Interested in worldviews, framing, integral perspectives, writing, politics, defeating fascism, freedom, spirituality, music, film, tv, beauty & good coffee. Victory is assured.
