@kaia@brotka.st to be fair, the native filesystem api is pretty cool (if you trust the website that is), and firefox is willingly not implementing it because of the chance that some websites might misuse it, and the user can't be trusted to know which websites to allow (similar to the reasons why they don't support progressive web apps). Don't get me wrong firefox is great and I use it every day but it does make some stupid decisions and that's why it is handy to have a copy of something chromium based around for when you need it *sent from my misskey PWA running in chromium because firefox doesn't support them*
@kaia@brotka.st runtime errors are never fun, and its why so many developers like statically typed/compiled languages so you find most bugs when you build the program not half way through running it. unfortunately for stats python is just the de-facto so it's not really your choice
Hey fedi, I need some crowdsourcing if that's okay. I'm making a hangman style multiplayer word-guessing game, and as part of this I need a list of relatively simple English words. I could scour the internet or ask some AI, but I thought it could be fun to see what you all come up with. That being said, I've made a page for you to submit your words. It groups your submissions per visitor, and asks for a name if you want to identify yourself, but if you don't feel free to leave blank/type gibberish If you could spare a few moments to send some words that would be greatly appreciated! The link to the page is: https://sirsegv.moe/words Thank you!! :ablobcatheartsqueeze:
@kaia@brotka.st what (if any) desktop environment do you use? KDE makes it pretty seamless, and even when that does't work bluetooth transfer works decently if you don't need fast speeds
A while ago I was at the library in my local city with a friend and we discovered a note on a pieceof paper tucked in one of the books with messages people had written to each other about their lives and feelings. It was really cute and inspired me to write one of my own and hide it in one of the books. It's been a while since I last checked, I wonder if anyone has seen it. I hope so :meow_happy_paws:
@kaia@brotka.st@romin@shitposter.club Most locally-run LLMs don't have filters, but you'd need to make sure not to get one trained on any ChatGPT (or similar) data, as that would taint it
Hey if any instance admins see this, I'm quite worried about my Job Queue, it keeps building up and I'm not sure if it's my servers fault, the other servers fault, or just normal behaviour. Is this normal?? or am I doing something wrong... Any help would be greatly appreciated :meow_heart:
