My spouse and I have been finding it very interesting that you can't exactly pinpoint when everything's taking place.

Some wikis say it's late 2016, but 25 years since Laura Palmer's murder would be 2014 (Laura died in 1989). Tech and cars sometimes give off a 2000s vibe (some people are seen using BlackBerry phones), others push you firmly to the 2010s (iPads, iPhones). We're speculating they're being ambiguous on purpose as a way to distance the viewer from the present.

@wxcafe So far, the only city in Europe people didn't look at me weird for dressing so differently was London (in fact, people were very excited about one of my very eccentric Brazilian coats). Everywhere else I've been, it was like I had two heads or something (at best) or was their enemy (at worst).

I was profiled for other reasons in the US, lol, but not for the way I dress.
