We went out for a walk just before the sun set this afternoon. A bright patch of moss on a wall was lit up in the last of the sunshine. Lichens share the space but in much more muted colours. #mosstodon
A wind thrown stick which is home to a number of types of lichen. Amazing shapes and forms, endlessly fascinating. I imagine that as we move towards cleaner air, the lichens that have been held back by pollution will grow in more places. Gloriously bushy lichen will take hold on every stick and bush. #DayDreaming #LichenSubscribe
Finally made it to the Cruickshank Botanic Gardens in Aberdeen after hearing good things about it for years. It is lovely. The fresh green of new tree leaves is always uplifting. #BotanicGardens#Aberdeen#Cruickshank#Bloomscrolling
If you are in #Scotland take a look at the rewilding charter and consider signing it. Rewilding 30% of Scotland is an ambitious target but as we are currently at something like 2-3% wild spaces, any improvement would be an amazing win for nature, resilience and people (we are part of nature, and dependant on it) Also 70% of land primarily for humans & domestic animals still seems very greedy.
@BroadforkForVictory I’m convinced that more people are concerned about climate than most think (surveys show this) but we are very stuck about what can be done, plus worn down just paying bills. As someone said to me yesterday- being green is expensive. Until people either have their needs met or green options are the easy ones, it can be very hard to make the choices they want to. I talk about climate to people all the time & most people are concerned but feel helpless. 1/2 #ClimateDiary
This frog spent yesterday hanging out in our garden pretending it wasn’t there whenever we looked at it. It was probably listening to the frogs singing in next doors pond #FrogFriday
